Candidate filing for the June 17, 2025, Primaries begins at noon on March 17, 2025, and ends on April 3, 2025, at 5:00pm. Candidates will file their Declarations of Candidacy, Petitions, and Filing Fee Receipts with their district and local Party Chairs (exception: Statewide candidates file with ELECT) (Va. Code § 24.2-522).
The GCRC Chair will be accepting applications for party nomination at HQ, 6888 George Washington Hwy., on April 3rd between the hours of 2pm – 5pm. No applications will be accepted after 5pm.
June 17, 2025, Dual-Party Primary Elections
Register to vote or update an existing registration:
- Through Tuesday, May 27, 2025.
- Register to vote or update an existing registration online using the Citizen Portal.
- Voters may register and vote using a provisional ballot In-Person after May 27, 2025, through Election Day.

Early, in-person voting period:
Voter registration offices will be open for early voting on Saturday, June 7, 2025.
Friday, May 2, 2025 through 5:00 p.m., Saturday, June 14, 2025.

Apply for a ballot to be mailed to you:
- Through 5:00 p.m., Friday, June 6, 2025.
- Your request must be received by your local registrar’s office by 5:00 p.m.
